Data loss is inevitable. Murphy's Law is always in play.

My first data loss occurred in the early 80's. I was transferring a manual business accounting system to my new TRS-80 computer. After working for quite some time, I lost everything when my young son punched the very enticing, red reset button. Fortunately, I still had all of my data on the old system! All I had lost was a lot of time and effort.

The purpose of this site is to explore data storage and protection methods from software to hardware, from your local computer to the internet, and the latest technology. The clouds are the limit.

I have been personally involved with computing since the days of punch cards and Fortran. Your questions and input are welcome. As a science teacher and graduate instructional technologist, I maintain the maxim that, "No question is too simple."
